Chief Minister of Balochistan Sardar Bugti’s Address to the Balochistan Assembly

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, addressed the Balochistan Assembly, emphasizing the urgent need for a serious approach to the province’s law and order situation. He strongly condemned the acts of terrorism and stated that attempts to destabilize the state have been ongoing for decades, but Pakistan’s reality cannot be changed through violence.

The Chief Minister remarked that Balochistan has been granted full constitutional rights, and development is not only the issue of Balochistan but of Pakistan as a whole. He identified unbalanced development as a major challenge for the province, stressing that the path of violence is futile. He questioned how negotiations could be possible with those who target innocent and defenseless travelers. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts by terrorists to divide the state, assuring that such attempts would never be allowed to succeed.

Addressing the Assembly, the Chief Minister called for leadership to make decisions and take concrete actions to put Balochistan on the path to true development. He mentioned that the in-camera meeting aimed to present all the facts to the Assembly. He emphasized that desecration of Pakistan’s flag could never be tolerated and stated that it was essential to determine who was truly serving the people of Balochistan.

The Chief Minister also addressed the role of law enforcement agencies in Balochistan, clarifying that the behavior of an individual should not be attributed to an entire institution. He condemned the mistreatment of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman’s mother and reiterated the importance of respecting the basic rights of every citizen.

He added that the people of Balochistan have suffered the most due to violence, and it was now time to find a permanent solution to the problem. With an emotional tone, he said, “We have carried 18 bodies and endured insults, but this situation cannot be tolerated any longer.” He assured that he would take every possible step for the true service of the people of Balochistan and defeat those who stand against peace and development.
