
In Quetta, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Ali Jan, who provided a detailed briefing on FIA’s initiatives in Balochistan as per the directives of the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister instructed that the Cyber Crime Wing be made more effective and that strong measures be taken to curb smuggling and illegal money transfers. He emphasized the need for strict action against individuals involved in such crimes.
During the meeting, it was also decided that the shortage of FIA personnel in Balochistan would be addressed through deputation from the Balochistan Police. On this occasion, Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Moazzam Jah Ansari, assured the DG FIA that until permanent recruitments are approved, trained personnel from the Balochistan Police will be provided to ensure the effective functioning of the Cyber Crime Wing.
The DG FIA also updated the Chief Minister on the progress of Apex Committee decisions and gave a comprehensive briefing on the actions taken by the agency. CM Sarfraz Bugti instructed that all possible measures be taken to curb crimes, particularly cyber crimes, ensuring not only crime prevention but also the swift and effective delivery of justice to victims.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, IG Police Balochistan Moazzam Jah Ansari, Secretary of Finance Imran Zarkoon, Spokesperson for the Balochistan Government Shahid Rind, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Muhammad Fareedun, and other senior officials.
