Timely Distribution of Free Textbooks in Government Schools of Balochistan Completed for the First Time

A significant development in Balochistan’s education sector has emerged as the provincial government, under the directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, successfully completed the 100% timely distribution of free textbooks to all government schools. Chairman of the Balochistan Textbook Board, Dr. Gulab Khan Khalji, announced this achievement during a review meeting at the Board’s office. The meeting was attended by Secretary Balochistan Textbook Board Dr. Niaz Tareen, along with other officials and staff members.

Dr. Gulab Khan Khalji stated that, for the first time in the province’s history, textbooks have been delivered at the Union Council level across all districts, achieving a 100% distribution target. According to the available data, a total of 9,309,000 textbooks have been distributed to various districts across the province. Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Provincial Minister of Education Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, substantial steps are being taken to improve the quality of education in Balochistan. The Chief Minister has issued clear directives to ensure that no student suffers academically due to the unavailability of textbooks.

To ensure fairness and efficiency in distribution, the Education Department and the Balochistan Textbook Board worked diligently to deliver textbooks on time. Dr. Khalji also provided district-wise details, stating that 1,289,232 books were distributed in Quetta, 554,462 in Pishin, 440,837 in Khuzdar, 596,205 in Kech, 266,383 in Lasbela, 395,872 in Nasirabad, 212,992 in Panjgur, 175,404 in Jaffarabad, 216,697 in Usta Muhammad, 270,126 in Sohbatpur, 238,644 in Killa Saifullah, 380,090 in Hub, 196,051 in Gwadar, 315,605 in Ziarat, 199,137 in Mastung, 267,309 in Barkhan, 181,013 in Kalat, 108,979 in Chagai, 167,237 in Kharan, 207,639 in Kachhi, 109,842 in Surab, 160,541 in Awaran, 170,668 in Nushki, 244,289 in Loralai, 188,481 in Jhal Magsi, 258,509 in Killa Abdullah, 43,069 in Sherani, 134,067 in Kohlu, 87,989 in Musakhel, 99,324 in Sibi, and 57,227 in Dera Bugti.
