BLA Threats in Balochistan’s Pashtun Belt and the Face of So-Called Nationalism

The terrorist organization BLA has openly started threatening Pashtuns in the Pashtun belt of Balochistan, creating a serious issue in the region. Their recent threats, particularly regarding coal mines, further expose their true nature as enemies of peace, not just for the Baloch people but for all of Balochistan.

Most of the coal mines in Balochistan are located in Pashtun-majority areas, especially in Dukki, where tribes like Nasir Tarin and Loni own several mines. The local people earn their livelihood through hard work, but BLA militants are continuously harassing them and threatening to target their trucks. The question arises: Who is BLA to impose its rule in these Pashtun areas? The Baloch people themselves have rejected BLA’s so-called war for independence, so whose agenda are these terrorists actually serving?

BLA and other armed groups have previously interfered in Pashtun regions, but their recent threats indicate that they are now targeting their own people. The Baloch community has always advocated for peace and does not support such militant activities. However, it is unfortunate that some so-called nationalist leaders try to distort reality by blaming the state for the unrest instead of calling out these terrorist elements.

Recently, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party leader Nawab Ayaz Jogezai attempted to blame the state for the burning of trucks and incidents in Dukki’s coal mines. But now that BLA itself is openly issuing threats, will Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Manzoor Pashteen have the courage to raise their voices against this injustice? Or will they remain silent as always?

This is the question that Pashtun people are asking today. If these leaders truly stand for the oppressed, they must openly condemn this terrorism. However, if they remain silent, it will prove that their politics revolve around selective interests rather than addressing the real issues of the common people. The increasing interference of BLA in Balochistan’s Pashtun belt poses a serious threat not only to the locals but also to the overall stability of the region. Therefore, it is essential for both the state and the people to unite against these conspiracies and work together to protect the rights of all oppressed communities in Balochistan.
