A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Department of Women Development and the Prison Department in Balochistan for the welfare of female prisoners. The agreement was led by the Provincial Advisor for Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Buledi, with the aim of providing essential facilities to incarcerated women.
Under this agreement, female prisoners will be provided with legal assistance, psychological support, and healthcare facilities to ease their difficulties and create a better environment for them. Additionally, skill development opportunities will be offered to imprisoned women so that they can acquire useful skills during their incarceration and reintegrate into society with dignity after their release.
According to Dr. Rubaba Buledi, the Department of Women Development and the Prison Department will take joint measures to safeguard the rights and well-being of female prisoners. The establishment of special centers for women prisoners in all jails across Balochistan is also under consideration, where they will receive essential services, training, and legal assistance.
Dr. Rubaba Buledi stated that this memorandum of understanding marks a significant milestone in improving the quality of life for female prisoners. She further emphasized that the Government of Balochistan is continuously taking steps to promote women’s development and protect their rights, and this agreement is an important part of that initiative.
