CM Sarfraz Bugti’s Speech in Balochistan Assembly and Briefing on Bolan Train Attack

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti, addressed the Balochistan Assembly, providing a detailed briefing on the Jaffar Express hijacking and the Bolan train attack. He stated that security forces bravely faced gunfire and successfully rescued 68 hostages. In response to the attack, around 50 terrorists were eliminated. He assured that all terrorists had been neutralized and vowed that the government would hold them accountable for every drop of innocent blood spilled.

Sarfraz Bugti further mentioned that details regarding the martyrs from both the public and security forces were still being received, and the government was conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. He emphasized that decisions would not be made by “Twitter leaders” or “police stations” but rather by the Balochistan Assembly and its elected representatives. He invited anyone with constructive suggestions or those interested in negotiations to bring their proposals, as the Prime Minister would be visiting Quetta the next day.

Speaking about the elections, CM Bugti acknowledged that there might have been some management issues; however, he pointed out that most of the winners belonged to families with a long history of electoral success. He expressed disappointment that “Doda Khan’s son is now addressing Basheer Zeb as ‘Sir’,” calling it a surprising and regrettable situation.

Reaffirming the government’s firm stance against militancy, Sarfraz Bugti declared that anyone who takes up arms against the state would be eliminated. At the same time, he assured that the state would embrace and support ordinary Baloch citizens. He emphasized that terrorists could not seize even an inch of land and that they often targeted off-duty soldiers, which he described as an act of cowardice since such individuals are not part of active combat. He issued a bold challenge, saying, “If you have the courage, come face us in our military bases instead of attacking civilians and unarmed soldiers on leave.”

The Chief Minister made it clear that acts of terrorism in Balochistan would not be tolerated under any circumstances. The state would take all necessary measures to ensure the security and protection of its people. He urged the public to stand with law enforcement agencies and unite against terrorism to bring lasting peace to the region.
