Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while addressing the central ceremony of the 46th death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always stood by the oppressed and will continue to be a solid wall against terrorists and their facilitators. He said that the PPP stands with the woman whose husband and children were brutally murdered after being taken off buses in front of her. The PPP is not with the oppressor but with the oppressed, and the martyrs of Garhi Khuda Bakhsh bear witness to this struggle.
He said that the PPP government is committed to pulling Balochistan out of the whirlpool of problems and the curse of terrorism, and will transform it into a peaceful and developed province. The government aims to deliver the rightful entitlements of the common Baloch directly to their doorsteps. The Chief Minister highlighted that historic steps have been taken to empower women in Balochistan. For the first time, five women have been appointed as Deputy Commissioners, and four women are part of the provincial cabinet. He stressed that if any woman supports terrorism, the PPP will take strict action against her as well.
The Chief Minister declared that the government is ready to sacrifice their lives for the defense of Pakistan. A clear message is being sent to the elements trying to divide the country — that we will never bow before terrorists. He described the current PPP government as the legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who was and always will be the unifying chain of the four provinces. He vowed from this historic place to fight a full-fledged battle against terrorism, defeat terrorists, and ensure that the rights of the people of Balochistan are delivered.
He reiterated his commitment to defending the rights of the people of Balochistan on every platform, whether it’s the federal government or any other forum. He said that the massive participation of people from across the country in Bhutto’s anniversary is proof that “Bhutto is still alive and will live forever.” The Chief Minister assured that under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the challenges faced by Balochistan will be addressed, and the province will be set on the path of peace and development.
He stated that the PPP leadership has always shown courage in the fight against terrorism — be it Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, or President Asif Ali Zardari. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also confronted terrorists fearlessly. He emphasized that the PPP has consistently taken practical steps to solve the issues of ordinary Baloch people and protect their rights. From the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, these initiatives are clear examples. The Chief Minister concluded by affirming that the PPP has always embraced the people of Balochistan and continues to stand with them with the same spirit today.
