Expansion of Balochistan Health Card Services at Civil Hospital Quetta – A Big Relief for the Public

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Health Minister Bakh Muhammad Kakar, the Balochistan Health Card Program has now been extended to more departments at Civil Hospital Quetta. This step aims to provide quality and free healthcare services to the underprivileged segments of the province, ensuring access to basic health rights for all.

Under this program, Civil Hospital Quetta now offers free medical and surgical care to the public. People can avail these services without any obstacles. This initiative is especially beneficial for those who cannot afford expensive treatments, making it a blessing for countless families across the region.

Currently, the following departments at Civil Hospital Quetta are offering free treatment through the Balochistan Health Card: Cardiology, Gynecology & Obstetrics, General Surgery, and General Medicine. These departments provide not only expert medical care under the supervision of specialist doctors but also free medications and other necessary healthcare facilities.

On April 22, 2025, a total of four successful surgeries were carried out, and five medical cases were officially registered under the Health Card program at Civil Hospital. These figures reflect the growing success of the program and the increasing public trust in it.

Dr. Hadi Kakar, Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Quetta, stated that their mission is to provide every citizen with quality and free healthcare services. The Balochistan Health Card Program is a practical step towards achieving this mission and is proving to be increasingly beneficial for the people.

This initiative not only reflects the vision of the current government but also serves as a positive move for public welfare. With the continuous improvement in healthcare delivery, there is hope that more departments will be included in the future, ensuring that every citizen of Balochistan has access to quality health services right at their doorstep.
