Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir NI (M) jointly addressed a grand tribal Jirga at the Zehri Auditorium in Quetta. The Jirga was convened to consult tribal leadership on the evolving security situation in Balochistan, particularly focusing on the ongoing proxy war allegedly fueled by India.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted that Indian-sponsored elements are actively working to sabotage peace and stability in Balochistan and derail developmental initiatives led by the government and armed forces. He stated that terrorist outfits like Fitna Al-Hindustan seek support from locals, which must be denied at all costs. He appreciated the positive role and leadership of tribal elders and stressed the need for grassroots engagement and the social isolation of terrorists as key components in the success of Pakistan’s counterterrorism strategy.
Sending a clear and firm message, the Prime Minister declared that enemies of Pakistan will no longer find any space to operate within the country. He reaffirmed that the government, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and administrative institutions, with full support from the people, will carry the fight against terrorism to its logical conclusion.
The Prime Minister also highlighted various historic developmental projects launched for the progress of Balochistan, emphasizing that the benefits must reach the common people. He praised the historic role of Balochistan’s people in preserving national unity and urged them to remain vigilant against foreign-sponsored conspiracies and acts of sabotage by India.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while addressing the Jirga, stated that “this Indian-sponsored proxy war is no longer a hidden agenda; it is an open and malicious act of terrorism targeting our people, our progress, and our peace.” He affirmed that Pakistan possesses concrete evidence of India’s involvement in backing terrorist networks in Balochistan and expressed confidence that these sinister plots will fail. He assured that the Pakistan Army, with the unwavering support of the nation and the brave Baloch people, will defeat every enemy—internal or external—challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty.
The Army Chief reiterated the Pakistan Army’s full readiness to decisively counter any threat. He declared that peace in Balochistan is non-negotiable and that the future of Pakistan is intrinsically linked to a stable and prosperous Balochistan.
Both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief paid rich tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of security personnel and law enforcement agencies operating in Balochistan. The Prime Minister assured complete support to the families of martyrs and emphasized that terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors will not be spared under any circumstances.
The Jirga concluded with a unanimous pledge by tribal elders to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Government of Pakistan and the Armed Forces, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to the peace, stability, and development of Balochistan.
Earlier, the Prime Minister also visited the Command and Staff College in Quetta, where he addressed student officers and faculty members. His remarks reflected the government’s deep commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s defense institutions amidst changing regional and internal security dynamics.
In his address, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of professional excellence, operational preparedness, and strategic foresight in countering hybrid and emerging threats, particularly in sensitive regions like Balochistan, where Indian-backed proxies aim to disrupt national progress and unity.
