
An important meeting of the parliamentary committee regarding the formulation of Balochistan’s budget and Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 was held on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, parliamentary leaders of coalition parties, and other senior officials. The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a detailed discussion on development priorities, efficient use of financial resources, and public welfare in the context of budget preparation.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the government is prioritizing public needs in the budget-making process to ensure maximum improvement and development within the available resources. He stated that the objective of the budget is not only to address current issues but also to pave the way for the province’s long-term sustainable development.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of incorporating the committee members’ recommendations into the budget. He highlighted that transparency, consultation, and mutual trust are key elements in building an effective and people-friendly budget. It was agreed in the meeting that development projects would be prioritized in areas that are in dire need of basic facilities, and those projects would be given preference that directly impact the lives of citizens in a positive manner.
The meeting concluded with a firm commitment that the government, in consultation with all stakeholders, will present a balanced, transparent, and development-oriented budget that truly represents the aspirations of the people of Balochistan.
