Shaheed-e-Jamhuriat Benazir Bhutto’s 72nd Birthday Celebrated with Dignity in Quetta

The 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Jamhuriat Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the first female Prime Minister of the Muslim world and the daughter of the East, was commemorated in a dignified ceremony held in Quetta. The event was attended by Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, provincial ministers, senior party leaders, Members of the Provincial Assembly, and a large number of citizens.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sarfraz Bugti paid rich tribute to Benazir Bhutto, stating that she proved her leadership not just in Pakistan but on the global stage. “The debt Pakistan owes to the Bhutto family can never be repaid,” he said.

He further highlighted that Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programs are the result of the visionary leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party, crediting Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for laying the foundation of the country’s missile program. He also praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for fearlessly presenting Pakistan’s case at international platforms, asserting that “the world now recognizes Pakistan as a peace-seeking nation, while India continues its aggressive posture.”

The event also featured speeches from Provincial Minister Mir Mohammad Sadiq Umrani, MPA Ali Madad Jatak, senior leader Sabir Baloch, Syed Iqbal Shah, and President of PPP Quetta Division Sardar Khair Mohammad Tareen, who all paid glowing tributes to Benazir Bhutto’s democratic legacy, compassion for the people, and lifelong commitment to public service.

Highlighting ongoing developmental initiatives in the province, CM Bugti stated that these are in line with Benazir Bhutto’s vision. He announced several key projects, including:

The imminent launch of the “People’s Air Ambulance” service in Balochistan.

The upcoming “People’s Train Service” from Saryab to Kuchlak.

The launch of the historic “Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program” for deserving students.

Reforms in education and healthcare sectors, with special focus on rehabilitation of flood victims.

Completion of the NICVD project in Balochistan, with its inauguration by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Construction of 8,000 homes for flood-affected families, with key distribution to begin soon.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto regularly inquires about the welfare of party workers and victims in every meeting, reflecting the party’s people-centered approach.

He described Benazir Bhutto as a wise leader, a compassionate mother, and a true voice of the people. The ceremony concluded with the cutting of a birthday cake in honor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, accompanied by chants and slogans celebrating her legacy.

In his concluding remarks, CM Bugti said:
“The Pakistan People’s Party gave us respect; we will repay it through service to the people. This party, its mission, and ideology are our strength and our future.”
