Steps to End Unemployment, Providing Skills and Jobs to Youth a Government Priority

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the youth of the province are a valuable asset, and every possible measure is being taken for their brighter future. He stated that smuggling and illegal businesses are not the way forward for the youth; instead, the government wants to provide them with dignified employment through education and modern skills. While presiding over a review meeting of the Youth Skills Development Program at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Quetta, the Chief Minister emphasized that unemployment is a major challenge, and to address it, more job opportunities must be created in the private sector.

During the meeting, it was informed that under the Youth Skills Development Program, training is being provided with the support of accredited institutions, and a target has been set to train more than thirty thousand youth in various fields. The Chief Minister directed that complete transparency and merit must be ensured in the program so that young people can access better employment opportunities not only locally but also internationally. He further added that special priority would be given to youth from border districts in training and interest-free loan programs so they can move away from illegal activities and secure respectable livelihoods.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the provincial government is giving top priority to educational scholarships, skills development projects, and job creation so that the youth can utilize their abilities and play an active role in the progress of the province and the country.
