Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the country’s first automated digital financial e-filing system in the province. Speaking at the occasion, he said the initiative marks a significant step towards transparency, good governance, and the promotion of modern technology. He added that the system will allow citizens to directly access financial and physical progress of development projects in their constituencies. Citizens will be able to track the progress of projects through mobile phones or laptops, while the new mechanism will completely eliminate informal “under the table” practices in government departments.
The Chief Minister further explained that the e-filing system will help officials make timely and accurate decisions, ensuring transparent governance and efficient utilization of public resources. He directed all departmental secretaries to implement the system in their respective departments at the earliest. He also announced that future cabinet meetings would be conducted through digital tablets to eliminate unnecessary delays in decision-making.
On the occasion, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon briefed that the project was entirely developed by local IT experts. Under this system, government departments will submit their budget requests online, with each stage of approval and financial transparency documented in a clear and accessible manner.
The Chief Minister praised Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and their team for the successful launch of the initiative. He also announced appreciation certificates and bonuses for the e-filing team in recognition of their efforts.
