Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has inaugurated an automated financial management system for the Local Government Department and other provincial autonomous bodies. The inauguration ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, Advisor for Local Government Nawabzada Baba Amir Hamza Khan Zehri, and senior civil officials. Commissioner of Quetta Division and Administrator of the Metropolitan Corporation, Hamza Shafqat, gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister about the new system.
Under this system, all future financial matters will be integrated through the SAP system to improve financial administration and oversight. According to the briefing, the implementation will begin in the first phase from Quetta, where the Metropolitan Corporation will be shifted to this new system. This transition will not only ensure accurate estimation of expenditures but will also help eliminate ghost employees.
The Chief Minister was informed that the new automated financial system will be operational from June 1, 2025. Mir Sarfraz Bugti termed this step as a major move toward financial transparency and stated that the system would bring more clarity to the financial affairs of the Local Government Department. He added that the provincial government will gradually expand the process of automation to other departments to ensure transparency and meritocracy in every sector.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the world is rapidly moving towards digitalization and modern systems, and we must also adapt to these changes in order to stay aligned with the journey of progress.
