Development and International Partnership in Balochistan: Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti Meets Norwegian Envoy

Quetta, June 19, 2025: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with the Acting Ambassador of Norway, Thomas Sømme Kopdahl, in Quetta. During this important meeting, matters of mutual interest, including governance, education, health, and human resources, were discussed in detail. The Chief Minister briefed the ambassador on the province’s ongoing development projects, transparent governance practices, and the government’s efforts for public welfare.

He stated that Balochistan has entered a new era of development and peace, with international partnerships significantly accelerating the pace of progress. The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to taking integrated steps to eliminate extremism and establish lasting peace, ensuring a secure and prosperous future for the people.

The Acting Norwegian Ambassador appreciated the government’s efforts for peace and development in Balochistan and assured continued cooperation in the sectors of education, health, and human development. The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with hopes of further strengthening relations between the two countries.
