High-Level Meeting Chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan on the Situation in Districts Adjacent to the Iran Border

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, to review the current situation in districts of Balochistan adjacent to the Iran border. The meeting included detailed briefings on the return of pilgrims and students, and the availability of essential food items. Commissioners of Makran and Rakhshan divisions, along with deputy commissioners of the border districts, participated via video link. The Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, were also present.

The meeting was informed that there is currently no shortage of food in the areas bordering Iran. A strategy has been devised to ensure the supply of electricity and LPG through alternative sources, and it was decided to improve the provision of these resources through coordination with the federal government.

The Chief Minister instructed that no shortage of food items should be allowed in any area bordering Iran and emphasized that the local population must have unhindered access to basic necessities. He further stated that continuous coordination with the Federal Ministry of Petroleum should be maintained to ensure a steady supply of petrol in the border areas.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to remain fully prepared for any emergency situation. He urged all commissioners and deputy commissioners to closely monitor the situation and take immediate action if needed. He appreciated the safe return of pilgrims and students and acknowledged the efforts of all relevant departments.
