A historic agreement has been reached between the Government of Balochistan and the Land Information Management System (LIMS) to modernize and digitalize land records in the province. The signing ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta in a simple yet dignified manner. On behalf of the Government of Balochistan, Senior Member of the Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti, and the CEO of LIMS signed the agreement.
In the first phase of the project, land records in 25 districts of Balochistan will be digitalized under the GIS system. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that the digital land records would reduce land disputes and provide better facilities to the public. He described this initiative as a significant and decisive milestone in the province’s history.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that sustainable development is not possible without transparency in land records, and the digital system will strengthen governance. Digital land records will minimize the possibilities of corruption and make land transfers and verification more convenient. He also instructed that the project be implemented on time and according to the highest standards.
The provincial government is committed to advancing Balochistan through reforms, transparency, and modern technology, and this project is being regarded as a practical reflection of that commitment.
