Important Measures for the Improvement of Medical Education and the Healthcare Sector in Balochistan

On Thursday, a delegation of female doctors led by Professor Dr. Aisha Siddiqua (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Director of the Regional Office of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Quetta, met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The discussion focused on the various challenges facing the province’s health sector, the promotion of medical education, and the provision of modern facilities. Provincial Minister of Education Rahiila Hamid Khan Durani was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, Professor Dr. Aisha Siddiqua presented several proposals to the Chief Minister regarding the issues in Balochistan’s health system and possible solutions. She emphasized the need to improve the quality of medical education, construct modern hospitals, and provide quality treatment facilities to the public. According to her, modernizing the basic healthcare infrastructure is a pressing need to ensure that citizens have access to better medical services.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti stressed the necessity of reforms in the healthcare sector and assured that the Balochistan government would take every possible step to strengthen the health system. He stated that providing the best possible medical facilities to the public is the government’s top priority and that all relevant institutions must work together towards this goal. He further mentioned that practical measures are already underway to enhance the healthcare sector in Balochistan so that citizens receive quality medical services.

Professor Dr. Aisha Siddiqua, while appreciating the Chief Minister’s commitment, expressed hope that prompt action would be taken to further promote medical education and improve hospital facilities in the province. She stressed that modern equipment, a well-trained workforce, and effective strategies are essential to providing better healthcare services. The meeting concluded with a consensus on the need to activate health centers in remote areas and to boost medical education by utilizing all available resources.
