
The Government of Balochistan has initiated departmental action against doctors, paramedics, and pharmacists involved in illegal strikes and hospital closures, as announced by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar. Show-cause notices have been issued to 29 doctors and pharmacists, including Medical Officers Dr. Bahar Shah, Dr. Kaleemullah, Dr. Saboor Kakar, Dr. Yasir Achakzai, Dr. Mubarak Khan, and Dr. Abdul Malik. Pharmacists Ejaz Agha, Abid Abdullah, and Fareed Khan have also been served notices.
According to Minister Kakar, a principle decision has been made to suspend all doctors, pharmacists, and paramedics responsible for forcing hospital closures. Government spokesperson Shahid Rind stated that the registration of the doctors involved in hospital closures would be revoked, and the government is considering writing to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for further action.
The provincial government condemned the disruption of public healthcare services, terming it alarming and unacceptable.
