Reko Diq Project and the Role of Baloch Women in the Development of Balochistan

The Reko Diq project is proving to be a milestone in Balochistan’s economic development, providing honorable employment to hundreds of men and women from across the province. This project is not only developing Balochistan’s resources but is also opening new avenues for local people, particularly Baloch women. The inclusion of these women is a testament to the fact that the people of Balochistan are not against development, but are instead waiting for better opportunities.

People like Mehrang Ghafar try to give the impression that the people of Balochistan do not accept any development project, but the employment of 85% local people, including Baloch women, in Reko Diq refutes this narrative. These women are not just securing jobs; they are playing an active role in the development of their families, regions, and Balochistan. From Nokundi to Dera Bugti, these courageous women from different areas are proving, through their hard work and dedication, that the doors of development are open, and they just need to seize the opportunities.

The people of Balochistan are not opposed to developmental projects; rather, they want to benefit from them. Those who spread false stories of deprivation and exploitation to mislead the public are, in reality, afraid of the province’s bright future. Projects like Reko Diq are leading the people of Balochistan toward self-sufficiency, prosperity, and development. If the people of Balochistan were truly against developmental projects, would hundreds of Baloch men and women be part of this project today?

Now is the time to move forward toward Balochistan’s bright future and reject the negative narratives. The people of Balochistan desire development, and they are responding to every voice that stands against their bright future with their hard work, skills, and successes.
