During the meeting, QDA Director General Askar Khan briefed the Chief Minister on the proposed projects, highlighting ongoing and future development plans. The Chief Minister expressed his commitment to transforming QDA into a financially autonomous and profitable institution, directing that the authority should be managed in a way that it generates its own resources with minimal reliance on government grants.
He emphasized that in modern cities, development authorities create their own revenue streams, and QDA will be structured on a similar model. The Chief Minister instructed the preparation of sustainable and practical projects aimed at enhancing urban facilities and the city’s overall aesthetics. He stressed the need for adopting long-term strategies for Quetta’s development to ensure that these projects not only benefit the public but also contribute to the city’s beautification.
