Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with students of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water, and Marine Sciences, where he provided them with a detailed briefing on global, national, and regional affairs. During the meeting, he highlighted the political, social, and geographical history of the province and discussed the ongoing development projects, challenges, and government initiatives in Balochistan.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the current era is dominated by artificial intelligence, making it a moral responsibility for young people to distinguish truth from falsehood. He expressed concern over the spread of baseless propaganda, which aims to alienate the youth from the state. He pointed out the negative use of social media, violent behaviors, and social mobilization as tactics used to mislead young people, adding that anti-state social media networks are being operated from abroad against Pakistan.
He stated that social media mobilization is being used for anti-state recruitment and that artificial intelligence is being leveraged to manipulate young minds negatively. Highlighting an important concern, he noted that when one searches for Balochistan on the internet, violence is prominently displayed, while the province’s progress does not appear as a top priority in search engine results. He urged young people to recognize the conspiracies against the state, emphasizing that there is no difference between terrorism carried out in the name of religion or nationalism.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to move beyond confusion and fight terrorism with full force through national unity. He criticized how political interests often prioritize an anti-state narrative over facts, urging everyone to put national interest above personal and political gains. He made it clear that anyone who chooses a violent path will face state action and affirmed that victory in the war against terrorism belongs to the state.
He declared that educational institutions would not be allowed to become breeding grounds for anti-state elements. He asserted that no government in the world allows people to sit on the streets and talk about breaking the state, as national security is more important than individual happiness or political benefits. Acknowledging that uneven development is not just Balochistan’s issue but a national one, he admitted that resolving decades-old problems within a few years is a challenging task.
