Aashiyana Housing Scheme Victims Finally Get Justice as CM Balochistan Orders Plot Allocation

On the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the long-awaited justice has been served to the victims of the Aashiyana Housing Scheme. According to Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Saad bin Asad, after 47 meetings held over eight months, the dispute surrounding this scheme has been resolved. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, in an official ceremony, more than 250 affected individuals were handed over their alternative plots.

In 2017, Aashiyana Builders introduced the Aashiyana Housing Scheme in Quetta, promising affordable housing on installment plans. Hundreds of citizens invested their life savings into the project. However, over time, it turned out to be a massive fraud, leaving buyers without plots or refunds. Despite continuous efforts and legal battles, the victims saw no progress in their quest for justice.

Taking strict notice of the situation, CM Sarfraz Bugti instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Quetta to take immediate action and ensure that the victims receive their rightful plots. In response, the Deputy Commissioner formed a special team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Sadar to investigate the case thoroughly. The team conducted an extensive inquiry and signaled strict legal action against the builders, prompting them to agree to provide alternative land to the affected individuals.

Following the firm intervention of the Balochistan government, on February 22, in an official ceremony, over 250 victims were granted alternative plots according to their legal rights. The Deputy Commissioner of Quetta stated that upon payment of the remaining installments, the Revenue Department would facilitate the transfer and legal procedures of the land.

With this resolution, the victims expressed their gratitude to the Balochistan government and hoped that public issues would continue to be addressed with the same priority in the future.
