
A significant meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, focusing on the development and enhancement of the IT and telecom sector in the province. The meeting was attended by representatives from the IT Department and cellular operators. Secretary of the IT Department, Ayaz Khan Mandokhail, provided a detailed briefing and presented various proposals to address the existing challenges in the sector.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while addressing the meeting, emphasized the need to utilize the IT sector for better governance. He stressed that improving internet services and implementing effective regulations are essential, and a comprehensive policy should be formulated to align with the specific conditions of Balochistan. He also pointed out that certain anti-state elements are using social media to influence and mislead the youth negatively, which must be countered. Practical measures should be taken to prevent the youth from being misled through social media and to promote a positive mindset.
The Chief Minister directed that modern technology should be used to enhance public services, law and order, agriculture, and the livestock sector. He further instructed the PTA officials to present a detailed report with recommendations in the next meeting to improve internet service quality and implement effective regulations. Experts and officials attending the meeting appreciated the Chief Minister’s directives and expressed their commitment to working towards modernizing the IT and telecom sector in Balochistan.
