Jafer Express Attack and Presence of U.S. Weapons: A Disturbing Revelation

A shocking revelation has emerged from the recent terrorist attack on the Jafer Express. Investigations into the incident have confirmed that the weapons used in the attack were the same ones the United States left behind in Afghanistan during the withdrawal of its forces. A recent report by The Washington Post has validated Pakistan’s long-standing claim that the American weapons left in Afghanistan are now being used by terrorist organizations operating inside Pakistan.

According to the report, the M4A1 rifle and at least 63 other weapons used in the Jafer Express attack were originally provided by the U.S. to Afghan security forces. These weapons include M-16 rifles, night vision devices, and other advanced military equipment. Both the U.S. Department of Defense and the Pentagon have confirmed this, proving the alarming reality that billions of dollars’ worth of U.S. military hardware is now being used against Pakistan.

This weaponry, left behind in Afghanistan in 2021, was illegally smuggled across the border into Pakistan, falling into the hands of terrorist groups like the TTP, BLA, and others. Pakistani officials and journalists have personally witnessed this modern weaponry, now being used in attacks on security forces and innocent civilians in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This situation is not only dangerous for Pakistan but should also be a matter of serious concern for the international community. If terrorist equipment continues to flow from Afghanistan into Pakistan, can the world still deny Afghanistan’s role in destabilizing our country? These weapons and terrorist networks are sabotaging Pakistan’s peace, while countries like the U.S. and India remain completely silent on this alarming situation.

Pakistan must highlight this issue at international forums and make it known how the transfer of weapons from Afghanistan is fueling terrorism on our soil. If timely action is not taken, this crisis could worsen, affecting not only Pakistan but the entire region.
