
Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, arrived in Quetta on Friday, where he met with the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti. During the meeting, they held detailed discussions on ongoing development projects in Balochistan, the fair distribution of resources, and future strategies. The progress of major initiatives, including the Kachhi Canal, was reviewed, and it was agreed that close coordination between the federal and provincial governments is essential to ensure transparent, sustainable, and fast-paced development in the province.
Provincial ministers Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Asim Kurd Gello, and Parliamentary Secretary Mir Zareen Khan Magsi were also present on the occasion. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated that the federal government considers the development of Balochistan a top priority and is utilizing all possible resources to complete public welfare projects effectively. Highlighting the significance of the Kachhi Canal project, he said that such initiatives not only contribute to agricultural development but also create employment opportunities at the local level.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti appreciated the federal minister’s support and interest, stating that federal participation in the development process is commendable. He noted that the ongoing projects in Balochistan are practical steps towards public welfare, which are boosting the province’s economy and accelerating economic activities. The Chief Minister emphasized that effective planning, fair distribution of resources, and good governance are key to integrating Balochistan into the national development stream. He expressed his belief that the joint efforts of the federal and provincial governments can provide long-term solutions to the province’s longstanding issues, and assured that they are moving forward with seriousness and commitment.
