Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, recently held a meeting with social media influencers where he announced the introduction of Balochistan’s first-ever social media policy. He stated that in today’s world, social media is an undeniable force that can no longer be ignored. He emphasized that guiding the youth is one of the most pressing needs of the time and expressed concern that social media is also being used to mislead the younger generation, which must be addressed promptly.
He stated that the state takes precedence above all, and pointing out flaws in governance should be seen as a positive step. He added that constructive criticism will not only be welcomed but will also help strengthen the process of reforms to improve governance. Sarfraz Bugti assured that concerns and suggestions from social media users would be incorporated into the new policy.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to provide youth with ample opportunities in education, employment, and awareness so they can become responsible citizens and contribute positively to society. He mentioned that social media will be used as a tool for improvement and that effective measures will be taken to counter negative propaganda.
He urged the youth to play an active role in highlighting the positive image of Balochistan and to use social media as a constructive platform. He remarked that influencers can play a key role in promoting social harmony and national unity. He further stated that policy-making must evolve with the demands of the modern era to ensure that social media is used in a positive and impactful way.
