
Quetta: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, to review the Quetta Development Project. The meeting focused on the progress of ongoing development initiatives and discussed new proposed projects in detail. Commissioner Quetta Division Hamza Shafqaat and Project Director Rafiq Baloch briefed the meeting thoroughly. It was informed that a comprehensive plan has been initiated to restore the traditional beauty of Quetta.
Suggestions were presented to launch new projects aimed at expanding and beautifying roads in densely populated areas. It was also shared that the project for the expansion and beautification of Airport Road has already been initiated. The Chief Minister stated his vision of transforming Quetta into the most beautiful city in the country and directed that high-quality standards be ensured in all ongoing projects, including Airport Road.
He also announced that 14 families residing in mud houses affected by the road expansion would be provided with fully equipped, well-constructed houses in alternate locations. He emphasized that the results of these development and beautification projects should be clearly visible to both local citizens and visitors from other cities.
The Chief Minister instructed that all projects must strictly adhere to set timelines and quality standards. He also directed strict action against individuals damaging beautification efforts under the Airport Road Beautification Project. Furthermore, he ordered FIRs to be lodged against those involved in wall chalking on newly beautified walls.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Advisor on Local Government Nawabzada Baba Amir Hamza Khan Zehri, Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Communications Lal Jan Jaffar, and other relevant officials. A comprehensive review of all aspects of the Quetta Development Project was carried out, and future strategies were discussed.
