Balochistan Educational Endowment Fund Launches Historic Scholarship Program for Transgender Students

On the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, the Balochistan Educational Endowment Fund (BEEF) has taken a historic step by awarding scholarships worth Rs. 7 million to 60 transgender students. This marks a significant move toward inclusivity in the province’s education sector.

These scholarships are part of the “Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program 2025” and will provide fully funded education from Nursery up to 16 years of schooling. The program covers tuition fees, hostel accommodation, food expenses, and a monthly stipend, ensuring that students can pursue their education without financial barriers.

In addition to academic support, the program includes 16-week training and capacity-building sessions designed to equip students with essential skills and empower them to become self-reliant. This initiative will not only enhance educational opportunities but also contribute to the economic and social empowerment of the transgender community.

The Government of Balochistan’s effort reflects a strong commitment to equality and inclusivity in the education sector, paving the way for a more just and progressive society.
