Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhel, addressed a public jirga held in the key city of Dalbandin in the Rakhshan Division, stating that the ongoing efforts to establish lasting peace, economic stability, and uphold merit in Balochistan will surely yield positive results. He emphasized that the jirga is an ancient and effective tradition that provides a path to address not only internal but also external challenges.

He further explained that the purpose of holding jirgas at the divisional level is to directly acquire awareness of local issues and promote policy-making based on the ground realities. The jirga was attended by Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Raheel Naseem Ahmad Khan, provincial ministers, senior civilian and military officials, local leaders, women, and youth, representing various sectors of society.

The event began with the laying of a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and a prayer for the deceased. During his speech, Governor Mandokhel praised the role of former Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in securing 25% profit from the Reko Diq project for Balochistan, calling it a significant development that will bring prosperity to the region.

He added that instability and unrest in certain areas of Balochistan is a political issue that can be resolved through political means. He emphasized that the doors for consultation and negotiation should always remain open to find a sustainable solution to these challenges. He pointed out that the traditions of both Pashtun and Baloch communities prove that through collective consultation, lasting solutions can still be achieved today.

He highlighted that poverty, inflation, and unemployment have placed the youth of Balochistan in difficult situations, stressing that urgent and serious decisions are required to resolve these issues.

He concluded by stating that there are still bright prospects in Balochistan to find a politically viable solution to the current crises that is acceptable to all. The Governor emphasized that today’s jirga provides an opportunity to unite local opinions and create a collective roadmap that will aid in advancing peace, development, and prosperity.
