Focus on Good Governance and Reforms in High-Level Meeting Chaired by Balochistan CM

A high-level meeting of administrative secretaries from all departments was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The meeting focused on the overall development of the province, improving governance, and enhancing service delivery, with several key decisions made in this regard. The Chief Minister emphasized that large-scale reforms are the need of the hour and will not remain limited to statements but will be implemented in practical terms. He stressed that decisions will be made purely on merit, which he termed the key to success.

The Chief Minister made it clear that the responsibility for development schemes lies with the respective departmental secretaries, and all such projects—whether federally funded or supported by foreign agencies—will be regularly monitored. He expressed satisfaction over the full and transparent use of resources in the last fiscal year, calling it a historic achievement that helped counter the negative perception regarding underutilization of development funds in Balochistan.

He stated that the government has complete confidence in the professional abilities of its officers, adding that the restoration of the system is only possible through collective efforts. He also emphasized that posting qualified individuals in the right positions is crucial for improving performance. Referring to the “Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program,” he described it as the foundation for a bright future for the province’s youth and highlighted that its success is the responsibility of the relevant institutions.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment, the Chief Minister noted that the implementation of development projects from the first day of the new fiscal year reflects the government’s seriousness. He added that the activation of District Development Committees will ensure timely resolution of local issues, and that every effort by the government is aimed at solving the problems faced by the common people. On this occasion, he also underlined the essential role of field officers in addressing public concerns effectively.
