Chief Secretary Balochistan Urges Officers to Prioritize Public Service

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, has emphasized that government officers must perform their duties with honesty and take every possible step to facilitate the public so that their problems are resolved in time and they receive much-needed relief. He stressed that sincerity, integrity, and good conduct in public service are of key importance as they strengthen people’s trust in the government.

Addressing the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference, he stated that development projects at the district level must be completed within the given timeframe and with quality standards. The meeting reviewed ongoing development schemes, the organization of open courts, preservation of archaeological sites, stabilization of essential commodities’ prices, repatriation of illegal immigrants, and other related issues. The Chief Secretary directed deputy commissioners to hold open courts so that citizens can directly present their complaints and issues for quick redressal.

He highlighted that archaeological sites reflect the history of past civilizations, their lifestyles, architecture, religions, and social systems. Protecting, researching, and promoting these sites, he said, is a shared responsibility to ensure that this intellectual heritage is preserved for future generations.

He further stated that the government is taking steps to keep prices of essential items under control, and strict monitoring is necessary to ensure that goods are available at official rates to protect consumers from market exploitation.

The Chief Secretary announced a complete ban on plastic shopping bags across the province, aimed at reducing environmental pollution and ensuring a clean and safe environment for future generations. He also directed immediate payment of salaries to teachers and doctors appointed on a temporary basis in the education and health departments and called for expediting the repatriation process of POR card holders.
