Grand Reception of Nawabzada Ameer Hamza Khan Zehri: A Historic Gathering of Political and Tribal Leaders

Karachi, October 24, 2025 — A remarkable event took place that added a new chapter to the political and tribal history of Balochistan and Sindh. The wedding reception (Walima) of Nawabzada Ameer Hamza Khan Zehri, the son of Chief of Jhalawan and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, and the current Provincial Adviser for Local Government, was held in Karachi’s Defence area. The grand event drew thousands of guests from across the country, turning what was meant to be a family celebration into a major political, social, and cultural gathering attended by politicians, tribal elders, bureaucrats, journalists, and social figures.

This reception marked the completion of a marriage that had taken place earlier during the holy month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia. The Karachi event beautifully reflected Baloch culture, hospitality, and tradition, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity. The traditional Balochi cuisine, the rhythmic beat of drums, and folk music added a distinct cultural charm to the evening.

A large number of political and tribal leaders attended the event to express their respect and close association with the Zehri family. Among the prominent guests were PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, former caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Opposition Leader Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, former Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, Sardar Saleh Bhutani, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Zulfiqar Magsi, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and many other federal and provincial dignitaries — transforming the event into a true national gathering.

Tribal elders from across Balochistan, including representatives of the Zehri, Mengal, Bugti, Bizenjo, Shahwani, Sasoli, Ghulamani, Jamot, Khadrani, Baranzai, and Harooni tribes, came together under one roof. The sight symbolized provincial unity, brotherhood, and mutual cooperation — a true reflection of harmony within Baloch society.

Guests lauded the Zehri family’s generous hospitality and extended their best wishes for the continued development and prosperity of Balochistan. Nawabzada Ameer Hamza Khan Zehri, serving as Provincial Adviser for Local Government, is emerging as a promising young political leader of the province. His wedding celebration became a bridge of goodwill, strengthening both family ties and inter-provincial relations.

This Walima was not only a memorable family occasion but also a significant moment in Balochistan’s cultural, social, and political landscape. Events like this keep the province’s traditions alive while promoting unity, love, and the spirit of a stronger Pakistan. Warm congratulations to Nawabzada Ameer Hamza Khan Zehri and his family — may this union mark another milestone in Balochistan’s journey toward progress and harmony.
