Universal Health Coverage Day — Commitment of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti

On the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed that equal access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right, and the provincial government is fully committed to ensuring this goal. He stated that Balochistan’s health system is being rapidly strengthened and aligned with modern needs to provide citizens with better medical services and easier access to treatment.

The Chief Minister highlighted that emergency measures are underway to deliver healthcare facilities to the province’s remote, mountainous, and underdeveloped areas. He added that programs related to maternal and child health are being expanded and upgraded according to contemporary standards. According to him, investment in the health sector lays the foundation for a safe and prosperous society, which is why the government is advancing comprehensive policies to guarantee equal access to healthcare for everyone.

He further emphasized that, due to the efforts of the current government, many areas of Balochistan are receiving medical services for the first time since the creation of Pakistan. Reforms are being implemented in government hospitals to ensure free treatment for poor and deserving patients suffering from critical illnesses, making these institutions fully functional and more people-friendly.

The Chief Minister noted that in any emergency situation, a strong healthcare system serves as the true shield of the people. He expressed satisfaction that the results of recent reforms and practical measures in the health sector have begun to reach the people, bringing real and positive change to the lives of citizens across Balochistan.
