
Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, chaired an important meeting regarding the implementation of the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and the progress of ongoing development projects. During the meeting, he expressed satisfaction over the pace of several projects while showing displeasure over the slow progress in certain sectors. The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the early launch of Green and Pink buses to provide better and more efficient transportation facilities to the public. He emphasized that a modern transport system is essential for improving the quality of life and the government is committed to taking all necessary steps to enhance public services.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his concerns over the sluggish progress of projects under the Department of Religious Affairs and instructed officials to expedite their completion. He also showed concern over the delay in the release of funds allocated for Balochistan under the Federal PSDP and decided to write an immediate letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to ensure the timely release of these funds for the province’s development projects.
The Chief Minister directed all departments to provide detailed reports on the disbursement of federal project funds and instructed the preparation of a comprehensive report addressing financial hurdles in major projects like the Kachhi Canal. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Minister for Irrigation Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Minister for Industries Sardar Kohyar Khan Domki, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and other senior officials.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti instructed that all development projects be completed swiftly, aiming for 90% completion by the end of the current fiscal year. He directed the Finance Department to release funds for approved projects without delay and decided to form a high-level committee to improve financial regulations, ensuring the removal of obstacles in fund disbursement.
Expressing satisfaction with the performance of the Health Department, the Chief Minister ordered the speedy construction of a hospital in Naseerabad, modeled after the Gambat Institute. Moreover, he expressed displeasure over the lack of progress in projects under the Forest Department and directed the Chief Secretary to take strict action against the responsible officers.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also ordered the immediate release of development funds for the Turbat and Jafarabad Press Clubs and directed that these projects be completed by June. He reaffirmed that the PSDP will be aligned with public needs to ensure sustainable development projects, and the government remains committed to taking concrete steps for the welfare of the people. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that public welfare initiatives will be remembered regardless of changes in government, as serving the people is the true success of any administration.
