Launch of Ramadan Food Package for the Needy in Balochistan

Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has launched the “Ramadan Food Package” to support the underprivileged, needy, and middle-class segments of society during the holy month of Ramadan. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that the government fully understands the difficulties faced by deserving individuals. Therefore, a decision was made a month ago to provide ration to needy families during Ramadan. However, due to road blockages, the relief program faced some delays. Despite this, the government is making every effort to ensure that this aid reaches the doorsteps of those in need as soon as possible. The Chief Minister also directed all Deputy Commissioners to distribute the ration while respecting the dignity of individuals, strictly prohibiting any form of photography during the process.

The inauguration ceremony of the Ramadan Food Package was held at the PDMA office, where Director General PDMA, Jehanzaib Khan, briefed the Chief Minister. He stated that a ration program has been launched for 250,000 deserving individuals. Each 48 kg ration bag is sufficient to meet the 15-day needs of a seven-member family. He further assured that the quality of food items has been maintained, and media representatives or anyone else is welcome to inspect it. The relief package is being transported to remote districts of Balochistan via train and road to maximize its reach.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, DG PDMA, and their entire team for this crucial initiative. He reiterated that the government’s top priority is to deliver ration directly to the homes of deserving individuals. To ensure fairness, the distribution process will be carried out in consultation with all members of the assembly, ensuring that the rightful beneficiaries receive their due share. The Chief Minister strongly emphasized that the ration must be delivered without any photo sessions or publicity stunts.

He further elaborated that the road blockages have caused difficulties in delivering ration to remote areas. However, the government is utilizing trains and other means to ensure a swift distribution process. Expressing disappointment over the repeated closure of national highways despite judicial and government directives, he warned that Deputy Commissioners who fail to fulfill their responsibilities would be removed from their positions.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that some elements use women and children to block highways, creating administrative challenges. However, he assured that the government is taking necessary measures to maintain order. Referring to the situation in Gwadar, he emphasized that the government knows how to restore order and enforce its authority. While patience is exercised to resolve issues peacefully, he warned that citizens cannot be left to suffer indefinitely.

Responding to a question, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti dismissed Omar Ayub’s claim that certain districts in Balochistan have become no-go areas. He challenged him to name any such district. Furthermore, he criticized the previous government for releasing separatist commanders, who later joined terrorist training camps.

Speaking about the security situation, the Chief Minister highlighted that terrorist groups attack national highways under the cover of darkness but cannot sustain their presence for long. He praised security forces for operating in highly challenging conditions, where distinguishing between friends and foes is difficult. Intelligence-based operations and well-planned strategies are being implemented to counter terrorism effectively.

Addressing the issue of missing persons, the Chief Minister described it as a complex subject often misused for propaganda. He explained that armed groups involved in violent activities use this issue as a pressure tactic against the government. He stressed that the solution lies in effective legislation and confirmed that recommendations have been sent to the federal government for necessary legal actions.

In conclusion, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring public safety and protecting citizens’ rights. He emphasized that no illegal activities would be tolerated under any circumstances. The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Parliamentary Secretaries Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai, Mir Abdul Samad Gorgij, Malik Naeem Khan Bazai, DG PDMA Jehanzaib Khan, and other senior officials.
