Balochistan Government’s Practical Initiative for the Welfare of Newspaper Vendors

Under the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Government of Balochistan is taking practical steps for the welfare of the journalistic community and newspaper vendors. In this regard, Secretary of Information, Government of Balochistan, Imran Khan, distributed motorcycles among deserving newspaper vendors during his visit to the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR) in Quetta. The purpose of this initiative is to reduce the difficulties faced by newspaper vendors and ensure the timely distribution of newspapers.

Secretary Information Imran Khan paid a detailed visit to the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR) in Quetta, where he was welcomed by Director General Public Relations Balochistan, Muhammad Noor Khetran, and other officials. During the visit, the Secretary of Information distributed motorcycles among newspaper vendors, which were provided to five deserving vendors through a draw. On this occasion, he stated that the Government of Balochistan, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, is committed to the development of the newspaper industry and the welfare of newspaper vendors. According to him, providing motorcycles will improve the performance of newspaper vendors and reduce their hardships.

Director General Public Relations Balochistan, Muhammad Noor Khetran, also appreciated this initiative, stating that this decision is a positive step for the newspaper vendor community, making their daily work easier. The newspaper vendors, who received motorcycles under the Hawkers Welfare Fund, expressed their gratitude to the Government of Balochistan and demanded further welfare measures, particularly housing schemes and other employment opportunities. The Secretary of Information assured them that the Hawkers Welfare Fund would be expanded and additional welfare initiatives would be introduced. He also indicated that he would appeal to higher authorities for an increase in this fund.

This initiative of the Government of Balochistan has been welcomed by the journalistic community and newspaper vendors, who expressed hope that such welfare projects will continue in the future. It is a significant step toward solving the problems of the newspaper industry and vendors, ensuring the timely distribution of newspapers and improving employment opportunities for hawkers.
