Balochistan Lawyers’ Sacrifices Are Unforgettable; State Determined to Eradicate Terrorism: CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while addressing a ceremony organized by the Balochistan High Court Bar Association, said that the sacrifices made by the lawyers of Balochistan in the war against terrorism are unforgettable. He said that these lawyers not only stood by the state but also laid down their lives to prove their commitment to the rule of law and peace. He emphasized the need to learn from history and guide the younger generation, urging a serious review of the narrative of a fruitless war for independence.

CM Bugti stated that terrorism in Balochistan began by targeting the judicial system, citing the martyrdom of Justice Nawaz Mari as a key example. Following his assassination, his heirs filed an FIR against Nawab Khair Bakhsh Mari and his sons. Today, educational institutions and courts in Quetta are fully functional, which reflects the retreat of terrorism and the state’s significant success.

He expressed regret that some lawyers represent anti-state organizations, which, he said, goes against the Constitution of Pakistan and national ideology. He added that foreign agencies such as Mossad, RAW, and others have continuously conspired against Pakistan, unfortunately using some local individuals in the process.

The Chief Minister announced several welfare initiatives for lawyers, including a grant of 50 million rupees, health insurance, pink vans and scooters for female lawyers, shuttle service buses, and a housing scheme for the legal community. He reiterated that the Government of Balochistan remains committed to development projects and is determined to root out terrorism by eliminating corruption and bad governance.
