Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, visited Bolan Medical College (BMC) Quetta, where he inaugurated several development projects and highlighted the government’s priorities in the health and education sectors. He stated that ever since taking charge, the provision of healthcare and medical facilities has remained a top priority. He emphasized that when decisions are made based on favoritism rather than transparency, institutional performance is negatively affected.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated key projects including the renovation of hostels for male and female students, a futsal ground, and a biometric entry system for students. He also laid the foundation stone for a new library and inspected the under-construction cricket ground. Addressing the ceremony, he stated that Bolan Medical College has consistently produced outstanding doctors and will continue to do so in the future.
He stressed that only institutions that embrace meritocracy truly progress, whereas favoritism leads to systemic decay. He emphasized that students should prioritize their education over politics, and that political activities should be restricted to registered parties and associations to curb negative influences.
Addressing the faculty, the Chief Minister reminded them of their responsibility to guide the youth in the right direction, noting that teachers play a crucial role in countering the brainwashing efforts of harmful elements. He also indicated that reforms in the healthcare sector are underway and promised more revolutionary changes in the near future. As a token of appreciation, he announced a cash reward of 2 million rupees for the consultants and designers who contributed to the college’s renovation.
The Chief Minister assured the principal of BMC that the provincial government will provide all necessary funding for the institution’s improvement. The event was attended by several provincial ministers, members of the assembly, government officials, and the college administration, who also praised the government’s initiatives in their speeches.
