Ninth Death Anniversary of “Father of Democracy” Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Observed in Dera Bugti

The ninth death anniversary of Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti, remembered as the “Father of Democracy” in Dera Bugti, was observed with great reverence. A large number of people, tribal elders, and respected personalities participated in the ceremony and paid rich tribute to his services. The participants stated that the late leader’s life was a shining example of courage, self-respect, and public service. He rose above personal interests and tribal biases, dedicating himself to democracy, people’s empowerment, and justice.

Speakers said that Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti not only challenged outdated traditions but also played a significant role in laying the foundation of democracy in Dera Bugti. He stood firmly against militancy, raised the national flag of Pakistan, and devoted all his energy to the cause of peace and stability. As a result of his tireless efforts, the decades-long bloody conflict between the Bugti and Mazari tribes came to an end, while thousands of families found livelihood opportunities and the youth gained access to education.

The participants further emphasized that his mission is now being carried forward by his son, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. Under his leadership, progress in the fields of education, healthcare, and development projects is reshaping Dera Bugti and paving the way for a brighter future. They concluded that the sacrifices and democratic vision of Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti continue to serve as a guiding light, and his role in promoting national unity will always remain unforgettable.
