Grand Jirga in Sibi: A Step Towards Peace and Development in Balochistan

A significant grand jirga was held in Sibi, attended by the Governor of Balochistan, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the Corps Commander 12 Corps, IG FC Balochistan (North), IG Police Balochistan, Member of National Assembly Mian Khan Bugti, provincial ministers, the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, and tribal elders from Sibi Division.

The core purpose of this jirga was to find solutions to the challenges facing the province, ensure peace and stability, and accelerate the progress of development projects. During the gathering, tribal elders presented their concerns and suggestions, which the government and security institutions assured would be addressed on a priority basis.

The Governor of Balochistan, in his remarks, emphasized that the province’s progress and prosperity are only possible through the collective cooperation of all stakeholders. He stressed that the government, security institutions, and tribal elders must work together to bring Balochistan into the national development mainstream. The Chief Minister of Balochistan highlighted the significance of tribal traditions and the jirga system, stating that the government, with the support of the people, is committed to maintaining peace and moving forward with development efforts.

The Corps Commander 12 Corps underscored that the security forces are not only focused on ensuring peace and stability but are also playing their role in providing positive opportunities for the youth. On this occasion, the Quetta-Dhadar (N-65) Road expansion and improvement project was inaugurated, which will not only enhance traffic flow but also play a vital role in the socio-economic development of the region.

At the conclusion of the jirga, all participants unanimously resolved that sustainable progress in Balochistan is only achievable through close cooperation between the government, security institutions, and tribal elders. Tribal leaders also pledged to play an active role not only in resolving conflicts but also in promoting social harmony and brotherhood across the province.
