Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti met with Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi in Quetta to discuss the improvement of railway services and new development projects in the province. A key focus of the meeting was the proposed Quetta to Kuchlak shuttle train service. The project involves reviving and upgrading the 32-kilometer railway track from Sariab Station to Kuchlak to make it operational for shuttle service.
During the meeting, railway officials briefed the Chief Minister on the details of the project, which includes five railway stations: Sariab, Quetta, Sheikh Manda, Beleli, and Kuchlak. The estimated cost of the project is 283 million rupees. CM Sarfraz Bugti stated that the shuttle service would not only provide quality transportation facilities to the public but also help reduce the growing traffic pressure in Quetta city.
On this occasion, Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi announced that, with the support of Pakistan Railways, an international-standard football ground will also be constructed in Quetta. CM Bugti emphasized that the expansion of railway services in Balochistan will offer modern and dignified travel options to the people. He added that serious consideration is being given to making the shuttle train project practical and viable. The successful execution of this plan will bring tangible benefits to citizens and significantly improve traffic conditions in the provincial capital.
