Launch of a Modern Traffic Management System in Quetta: AI-Based Signals to Improve Urban Mobility

The Government of Balochistan has decided to install modern Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based traffic signals in Quetta to provide a long-term solution to the city’s growing traffic challenges. During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, a comprehensive review was conducted of the strategy for implementing a modern traffic management system across the provincial capital.

Officials informed the meeting that the AI-based traffic signals would automatically regulate traffic flow, helping to reduce congestion, shorten travel times, and provide citizens with a safer, more organized, and efficient commuting experience.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the relevant departments to ensure coordinated efforts for the establishment of a modern, efficient, and sustainable traffic management system. He emphasized that public convenience, road safety, and the development of modern urban infrastructure remain among the Government of Balochistan’s highest priorities.

The Chief Minister further stated that addressing traffic issues through advanced technology is a key component of the government’s reform agenda. He noted that AI-powered traffic management would enhance road discipline, transparency, effective monitoring, and create a safer and more convenient travel environment for the public.

The Government of Balochistan remains committed to transforming Quetta into a modern, safe, and well-organized city through technology-driven initiatives, ensuring that citizens benefit from world-class transportation and traffic management facilities.
