Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at Zardari House in Islamabad, where they held detailed discussions on the province’s political, administrative, and security situation.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti briefed Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the current political and administrative affairs of Balochistan, the recent wave of terrorism, and the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability. He informed the PPP Chairman that the government had played a proactive role in consoling the families affected by the Ziarat tragedy and addressing their concerns. He further stated that, in response to the victims’ families’ demands, a Judicial Commission had been established to investigate the incident.
The Chief Minister also shared that an All Parties Conference (APC) would soon be convened to promote lasting peace and political harmony in Balochistan. He noted that both parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties would be invited to participate in order to develop a broad-based consensus on resolving the province’s challenges.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), Police, and civilians who lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, saying he fully understood their pain and suffering.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appreciated Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti’s constructive role in supporting the victims of the Ziarat tragedy and helping facilitate the dialogue process. He also thanked the opposition parties for their positive contribution to making the negotiations successful.
Emphasizing the importance of political engagement, the PPP Chairman stated that dialogue remains the only viable and sustainable solution to Balochistan’s political issues. He reiterated that the Pakistan Peoples Party firmly believes in democratic consultation and political dialogue with all parties, whether they are in government or in opposition.
Reaffirming the party’s longstanding stance against terrorism, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the entire nation stands united like a solid wall against terrorism and remains committed to defeating all forces seeking to undermine Pakistan’s peace and stability.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to ensuring peace, political stability, justice for the affected families, and inclusive political dialogue in Balochistan.
