The Sacrifices of Martyrs: A Matter of National Pride and State Responsibility

Ziarat: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, stated that the martyrs are the pride of the nation, the strength of the state, and the crown of our honor. He said the sacrifices of the brave men who laid down their lives for the peace, security, and stability of the country will always be remembered, and the government will never leave their families alone.

Addressing a ceremony in Ziarat where financial assistance cheques were distributed among the families of the martyrs, the Chief Minister said the state deeply values the sacrifices of its martyrs and considers the welfare of their families its responsibility. Provincial Minister Noor Muhammad Dummar, Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan, senior government officials, families of the martyrs, and local dignitaries attended the event.

Before the ceremony, the Chief Minister met with the bereaved families, expressed his condolences, and assured them that the government would stand by them in every difficult moment. He remarked that Ziarat has always been known as a land of peace and happiness, but the recent tragedy has plunged the entire province into mourning. Referring to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an, he said that martyrs are alive in the sight of Allah, and this belief inspires patience, courage, and resilience.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that terrorism has no connection with Islam, nor with Baloch or Pashtun traditions. Targeting innocent civilians, women, children, and passengers is completely against humanity, Islamic teachings, and local values. He added that the Balochistan Police, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Army, and other law enforcement agencies continue to sacrifice their lives every day in defense of the country, and the entire nation remains indebted to their bravery.

The Chief Minister urged the public to remain vigilant against terrorist elements and anti-state propaganda, strengthen national unity, and stand alongside state institutions to defeat the enemies of peace.

He further announced that a high-level inquiry committee had already been constituted to ensure a transparent investigation into the Ziarat incident. If negligence or misconduct by any official is established, strict and impartial action will be taken, and justice will be ensured without exception.

Announcing a comprehensive support package for the martyrs’ families, the Chief Minister said that each family would receive financial assistance of Rs. 11 million. He added that all funds had already been released, and the payments would be transferred to the legal heirs upon completion of the required legal formalities. He also announced that the government would bear all educational expenses of the martyrs’ children for the next 16 years, provide them with opportunities to study at the country’s finest educational institutions, offer government employment to one member of each martyr’s family, and ensure complete medical and administrative support for the bereaved families.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that he stands with the families of the martyrs not only as the Chief Minister but also as a fellow Baloch brother. He assured them that the doors of the Chief Minister’s House would always remain open for them and that every possible measure would be taken to address their concerns.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister prayed for the elevated status of the martyrs, the speedy recovery of the injured, patience and strength for the bereaved families, and lasting peace, security, and prosperity for Pakistan. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring comprehensive support and protection for the families of the martyrs.
